Each MU has a unique SN (Serial Number) on the bottom of the package. SN is the certificate to upgrade firmware and to get the technical support from Morpx. If you lost  your shipping box or need a SN for your MU PCB in the developer package, please follow the instructions from the SN Retrieval section in the firmware installation guide ( http://store.morpx.com/article.php?id=71 ). Thanks!

I am trying the SN Retrieval procedure with the DFU UTIL software. Mu is set in DFU mode (green blinking light). In the CMD promt I type:

C:\Program Files (x86)\DFU-UTIL\dfu-util-0.9-win64>dfu-util.exe -a1 -d 0x6D6F:0x010A -R -U readfw.bin

I get the reply:
dfu-util 0.9

Deducing device DFU version from functional descriptor length
No DFU capable USB device available

Windows finds the Mu but complains:
The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

More details:
Device USB\VID_6D6F&PID_010A\0101 was configured.

Driver Name: null
Class Guid: {00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}
Driver Date:

So why do I get error "No DFU capable USB device available"
Does the dfu-util need a Mu driver?

Yes, it was a driver issue. I installed the WinUSB driver using the zadig utility and now DFU is much happier:
Deducing device DFU version from functional descriptor length
Opening DFU capable USB device...
ID 6d6f:010a
Run-time device DFU version 0110
Claiming USB DFU Interface...

DFU-UTIL saved the firmware to my "readfw.bin" file which I could submit at the firmware download page http://mu.morpx.com/firmware/. The retrieved serial number looks like:
MU 3758A18311A602AF

Note the letters "MU " at the front.

For some reason the serial number printer had printed "6" instead of "5" on the Mu retail package, or at least the numbers were hard to read.
OK, now I can start uploading the new firmware.
